The skin may look or feel swollen and may have sunburn like sensation post procedure. For most treatments, this generally only lasts 24-48 hours, however, these affects can last up to 4 days following more advanced treatments.
Hot showers and baths are to be avoided for 48 hours post procedure. You may shower and wash the face after your procedure but be sure to only use room temperature water.
If necessary you may apply a mineral make-up the day following your procedure. Non-mineral make-up may cause irritation and lead to further inflammation and redness. It is advised to use new or clean sponges and brushes to minimise risk of infection.
For 3-5 days following the procedure the skin will feel tight and dry. The use of hydrating products to counteract this is advised. You clinician will discuss this with you during your consultation and recommend appropriate preparations.
Avoid alcohol based toners/lotion for 7-10 days.
You may return to using your normal skin care regime once your skin feels as though it is back to normal. The recommended period for this can vary between 3 -14 days.
The use of vitamin A based serums is highly encouraged as this will enhance the results. The higher the dosage the better the result (dosage will vary according to how your skin tolerates vitamin A based products so please discuss this with your clinician to ensure correct dosage).
Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 10-28 days. The use of a physical SPF 30 is mandatory during this period, (rain, hail or shine!). These products are available at Clinica Lase.
In some cases clients may experience mild bruising. Your clinician will advise protocol of bruising if this does occur.
