Crows Feet Treatment

Our facial muscles are constantly moving throughout the day as we experience different emotions. The forehead muscles and those around the eyes tend to experience the most movement, which is why these are the first areas to develop lines and wrinkles.

Crow’s feet are the tiny lines around your eyes that first become prominent around the age of 30. Facial movement such as smiling and squinting when it’s too bright outside all eventually add up over time, leaving you with fine lines in the corners of your eyes.

Excess exposure to the sun can also weaken the delicate skin around your eyes, which is another reason why crow’s feet might develop.

As we age, our faces automatically lose volume and there’s a reduction in skin elasticity. This makes it increasingly difficult for the skin to bounce back after the eyes react to a facial expression. Crow’s feet do have an effect on a person’s overall appearance by making them look older than they really are. Fortunately, anti-wrinkle injections make it possible to retain a more youthful appearance regardless of age.

Anti-wrinkle injections relax the muscles that are responsible for these permanent lines and wrinkles, leaving you with a softer, firmer appearance. They also prevent new wrinkles from forming in the future.

Clinica Lase are specialists in non-surgical anti-ageing treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections, laser genesis and oxygen facials. Let us help you develop a tailored treatment plan that will provide you with subtle, long-lasting and natural-looking results.

What to Expect

If you are a new patient, a clinician will first discuss your medical and treatment history with you and get an idea of your aesthetic goals. This will allow us to create a treatment plan that matches your requirements. If you have any questions or concerns about your treatment, it’s important to discuss them with your clinician before proceeding with the injections.

Before the anti-wrinkle injections are administered, your skin will be cleaned. Using a fine needle, the treatment will be gently injected around the eye area. You may feel a slight stinging sensation that lasts a few seconds but it is tolerable. The average procedure lasts about 15 minutes.

Patients will start seeing results several days after their treatment but the full results will be more prominent a week or two after their procedure. The results of your anti-wrinkle injections can last up to 3 months but this varies between patients.

Top-up treatments will be required to maintain results but dosages may differ over time, with some patients requiring fewer units as they continue to receive treatments.

Anti-wrinkle injections can also be paired with additional treatments such as dermal fillers and laser therapies to replace volume and tighten the skin on the face. A good skincare regime should also be followed for the best results. Your clinician will be able to recommend products that you can use at home to retain your results.

To prevent any excess bleeding, it’s important to avoid any blood thinning medications for at least a week before your treatment. Alcohol should also not be consumed for 24 hours before your appointment.

Products that contain vitamin A should also not be used for 2 – 3 days before your treatment.

If you have a history of cold sores, please let us know so that we can advise you on antiviral options prior to your treatment.

No serums or makeup should be applied to the treated area before your appointment to reduce the risk of infection.

Following your treatment, you will notice small red bumps on the area that was treated. These bumps are normal and will subside within 30 minutes.

In some cases, bruising can also occur but this can easily be covered up with makeup. If you experience a headache after your treatment, you can use paracetamol to alleviate any discomfort. Know that headaches are completely normal but some patients have even reported that their headaches were reduced after their anti-wrinkle injection treatment. Allergic reactions are very rare but if they do occur, please contact Clinica Lase immediately.

Patients are able to return to their normal daily activities directly after their treatment but strenuous exercise should be avoided for 24 hours. It’s also important not to apply any pressure to the treated area, which includes the use of a helmet or glasses. It’s also recommended that you avoid alcohol for several hours after your appointment.
