Skin Needling Skin Treatment From $350
Skin Needling or Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) is a procedure that involves a fractional delivery of needles to the skin creating micro-injuries to the epidermis and dermis. These micro-injuries induce a natural wound healing response which includes the release of growth factors and the deposition of new collagen and elastin. Skin Needling is a very effective treatment for wrinkles, rosacea, scars, stretch marks, thin skin density, lax skin, hair restoration, sun damage, hyper-pigmentation and hypo-pigmentation. Various needling equipment is used depending on the patient and application. At Clinica-Lase we offer three types of skin needling treatments, using either the Dermaroller, e-Dermastamp or Dermapen.
Skin Needling is contra-indicated on irritated skin, infected skin, fungal skin infections, active acne, active rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, severe solar keratosis, skin cancer, raised moles, warts and any open wounds or sores. If you have any of these skin conditions please advise your practitioner prior to any treatment.
Upon arrival you will be asked to fill out a consultation form which will include questions about your skin type, medical conditions, previous treatments, etc. You will then have a private discussion with an experienced practitioner who will assess your individual requirements, suggest a tailored plan and take you through the details of the treatment including pre-care and aftercare. This will also give you the opportunity to have any questions or queries regarding your treatment answered. The area to be treated is cleaned and the application of a topical anaesthetic is applied 30-45 minutes prior to treatment. This procedure may take 45-60 minutes depending on the individual’s discomfort level. To achieve optimal results we recommend approximately 1-5 treatments with a 4-6 week interval in between.
At Clinica-Lase we only use state of the art medical devices such as The TGA approved Dermaroller, e-Dermastamp and Dermapen. This is very important as poor quality skin needling devices can produce adverse reactions and complications with the skin. We pride ourselves on both our knowledge and experience but also on our thorough consultations that ensure we have all the necessary information to minimise the risk of complications. At Clinica-Lase you can be sure that your safety is our first priority.
The skin may look or feel swollen and may have sunburn like sensation post procedure. For most treatments, this generally only lasts 24-48 hours, however, these affects can last up to 4 days following more advanced treatments.
Hot showers and baths are to be avoided for 48 hours post procedure. You may shower and wash the face after your procedure but be sure to only use room temperature water.
If necessary you may apply a mineral make-up the day following your procedure. Non-mineral make-up may cause irritation and lead to further inflammation and redness. It is advised to use new or clean sponges and brushes to minimise risk of infection.
For 3-5 days following the procedure the skin will feel tight and dry. The use of hydrating products to counteract this is advised. You practitioner will discuss this with you during your consultation and recommend appropriate preparations.
Avoid alcohol based toners/lotion for 10-14 days.
You may return to using your normal skin care regime once your skin feels as though it is back to normal. The recommended period for this can vary between 3 -14 days.
The use of vitamin A based serums is highly encouraged as this will enhance the results. The higher the dosage the better the result (dosage will vary according to how your skin tolerates vitamin A based products so please discuss this with your practitioner to ensure correct dosage).
Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 10-28 days. The use of a physical SPF 30 is mandatory during this period, (rain, hail or shine!). These products are available at Clinica-Lase.
In some cases clients may experience mild bruising. Your practitioner will advise protocol of bruising if this does occur.
