Anti-wrinkle injections are used to relax the muscles and are commonly injected into the forehead, between the forehead and around the eyes. The cosmetic procedure allows wrinkles to disappear or prevents wrinkles from forming.
Our anti-wrinkle treatments take full effect within 7-10 days post procedure, and results can last on average from 3 to 4 months.
Avoid vitamin A based topical products such as Retinols for 3 days before treatment.
Avoid alcoholic beverages 24 hours before treatment to minimise potential bruising.
Inform us if you have a history of Perioral Herpes (Cold Sores) to receive advice on antiviral therapy prior to treatment.
WHAT TO EXPECT
PEACE OF MIND
It is normal to have some redness, swelling and tenderness post treatment. If you experience any discomfort during this period you may apply a cold compress or alternatively an ice pack to the area. If you are still experiencing some discomfort be sure to contact the clinic immediately.
24 -48 hours post procedure we discourage the use of products containing AHAs, BHAs or Retinoids.
Make-up may be applied post procedure as long as mineral make-up is used and be sure that sponges and brushes are thoroughly cleaned to minimise infection.
Some patients can experience a mild headache post procedure. If this occurs you may take paracetamol as needed.
Facial treatments and peels are not to be undertaken for 24-48 hours post procedure. This includes any massage treatments on the face.
It is recommended not to lie down, perform any strenuous exercise for 3-4 hours following your treatment. The use of steam rooms, saunas and hot tubs should also be avoided in that time.
Non steroidal anti-inflammatory medication such as nurofen, asprin, ibuprofen should be avoided for 24-48 hours as they may induce bruising.
Some patients may experience small mosquito bite like bumps at the injection site. They generally only last about an hour but you may ice the area to assist with this swelling.
